Yuri van der Leest is a Managing Director with Teneo. Located in Hong Kong, he works closely with clients across banking, fintech and arts and culture. He also leads Teneo’s executive coaching franchise in Asia, and has trained executives, analysts and spokespeople across regional markets.
Yuri is a seasoned writer and editor of thought leadership and social and traditional media content. He is also practiced in narrative development and driving marketing and communication strategies across diverse subjects. A seasoned speaker, Yuri is a natural emcee and has facilitated numerous offsites and strategy development sessions for Teneo clients across the region.
Yuri is passionate about arts and culture and is a noted collector of contemporary Hong Kong art. He has translated this passion into volunteer work, having spent two years as a docent at the M+ Museum of Visual Culture and helping produce the Arts for Good Foundation’s monthly newsletter. He has also supported a variety of art related Teneo clients, including undertaking confidential work for a leading global auction house, a premier global art fair and an innovative digital art pioneer.
Prior to joining Teneo, Yuri was Senior Investment Writer with Manulife Asset Management Hong Kong. Before this he served as Senior Editor in Asia for the Royal Bank of Scotland (Hong Kong)’s sell-side equity research division. Previous to Hong Kong, he worked in marketing and communications for financial and technology firms in Seoul, Korea; with the Nova Scotia Government in Canada; and with a technology start-up in Portland, Oregon, USA.
