Sir Ben Bradshaw
Sir Ben Bradshaw is a Senior Advisor with Teneo in London. Sir Ben advises clients and provides insights on the political and policy landscape in the UK.
In addition to serving as Labour MP for Exeter from 1997-2024, Sir Ben served as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport from 2009-2010. During Gordon Brown’s premiership, he served as Minister of State for Health Services at the Department of Health, as well as Minister for the South West portfolio over the same period (2007-2009).
From 2006-2007, Sir Ben served as Minister of State for Local Environment, Marine and Animal Welfare at Defra and from 2003-2006 as Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). In Sir Tony Blair’s government, Sir Ben served as Deputy Leader of the House of Commons from 2002- 2003 and Parliamentary Under-Secretary at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2001-2002.
Prior to entering politics, Sir Ben worked as a journalist, most recently with the BBC. He has a degree in German from the University of Sussex.
