Shrene Shergill is a Manager with Teneo Financial Advisory business in Bermuda, having joined the firm following the acquisition of KPMG’s Bermuda restructuring business.
Shrene has over 10 years of experience which has been predominantly focused on restructuring and insolvency, in London and Bermuda. Prior to moving to Bermuda, Shrene spent four years in an insolvency boutique in London, gaining experience across both corporate and personal insolvency matters, having worked on Administrations, Liquidations, Voluntary Arrangements and Bankruptcies.
In Bermuda, Shrene’s experience has been across a range of corporate engagements, including voluntary, provisional and compulsory liquidations and is experienced in managing various stakeholder interests throughout these processes.
Shrene is a member of the Restructuring and Insolvency Specialists Association of Bermuda (RISA Bermuda) and the Bermuda Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Network (WIRN).
Key focus areas:
- Solvent liquidations of Bermuda, Irish and Singapore-operated companies as part of group restructurings, which involve working closely with service providers to facilitate timely winding-up of these structures and liaison with regulatory bodies such as the Bermuda Monetary Authority. Shrene has dealt with a range of listed, regulated insurance, holdco and private fund entities in this remit.
- Court appointments of various local and offshore entities including insurance, funds, telecoms, holdcos, retail, and property businesses. These have involved dealing with various stakeholders, handling trading aspects including cashflow management, marketing and sales processes, distributions to creditors, arbitration claims and cross-border recovery action, and conducting investigations.
