Naureen Kabir
Naureen Kabir is a Managing Director with Teneo’s Risk Advisory business, based in New York.
Naureen is a seasoned intelligence and crisis management expert with two decades of experience in spearheading strategic intelligence, risk management, and crisis response initiatives.
At Teneo, Naureen leads the Risk Intelligence practice and advises global clients on a wide-ranging spectrum of strategic, operational, and reputational risks and challenges. Her expertise lies not just in identifying and forecasting risk, but in crafting and implementing robust response mechanisms that safeguard clients’ interests. Naureen also oversees the intelligence capabilities of Teneo’s Risk Advisory business. In this capacity, she ensures the deployment and utilization of industry-leading tools and technologies, constantly striving to keep the organization at the cutting edge of risk intelligence.
Prior to joining Teneo, Naureen held a series of leadership positions across the public and private sectors. She previously served with the New York City Police Department’s Counterterrorism and Intelligence Bureaus for a decade, including as the Deputy Director of Counterterrorism Intelligence Analysis. In this role, she helped lead the NYPD’s strategic intelligence, threat analysis and counterterrorism efforts. Previously, she also served as the Intelligence Manager for the Terrorism Threat Analysis Group and as a Senior Intelligence Analyst and Briefer.
Naureen has also served as a Senior Policy Advisor at Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention organization, where she championed innovative and impactful initiatives and policy efforts to combat gun violence across the country. She has also served as the Assistant Director of the National Program at the Council on Foreign Relations, where she led a variety of foreign policy initiatives and programs across the nation, further underscoring her extensive expertise in assessing contemporary geopolitical risks and dynamics.
Naureen holds an MA in International Affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Bryn Mawr College. She is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, a 92Y Women in Power Fellow, and a Foreign Policy Interrupted Fellow.
