Matt Roe is a Senior Managing Director with Teneo in Bristol, having joined Teneo as part of its purchase of Deloitte’s UK Restructuring business.
Matt has over 13 years of experience and is both ACA and JIEB qualified. Matt leads our Managed Exit team, assisting large corporates to plan and implement exits from underperforming and non-core parts of their business.
Our work in this area includes evaluating the options available which include turnaround, sale, closure or some combination, detailed planning of the proposed strategy and where relevant assistance in the execution of the exit plan.
Selected Project Experience:
- Options analysis for Japanese owned, UK based manufacturer in respect of restructuring and exit options post loss of a major customer. Subsequently supported with preparation of employee communications and stakeholder communications and project management of closure process.
- Supporting a Global high tech manufacturing business in the development of plans and costs associated with the orderly exit from over 20 businesses across Europe, Africa and Asia. Role included identifying alternative options in order to minimise the funding requirement for the exits.
- Project management and initial closure planning for a UK based retailer for up to 50 non-core joint venture operations.
- Project management support for the implementation of the wind-down and exit of operations in 4 locations across Europe and Asia for a major UK retailer.
- Support to Shareholders and Management of engineering business evaluating sale options, conducting closure planning and project management of operational wind-down of the business.
- Strategic exit advice for mid market private equity house focused on consideration of sale and closure options of underperforming recruitment business. Successful sale of the business achieved prior to rationalisation of the remaining group.
