James Crossland

Global Vice Chairman

James brings to Teneo almost 30 years of experience in the areas of strategic communications, government and public affairs, investor relations, crisis management and marketing communications.

He has advised CEOs and business leaders across a wide range of industries, both in Canada and internationally.

Prior to joining Teneo, James was Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs at Kinross Gold Corporation, where he had responsibility for corporate communications, government relations, investor relations, corporate social responsibility, environmental affairs, major project permitting and the Company’s Moscow office.

Previously, James served as President and CEO of GPC Canada, Executive Vice-President of Cossette Communication Group and President of NATIONAL Public Relations, with roles in client servicing, mergers and acquisitions, and business operations in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Earlier in his career, James was actively involved in national politics, serving in leadership roles during the 1984 and 1988 federal election campaigns on behalf of The Right Honourable Brian Mulroney, Canada’s 18th prime minister.

James holds a B.A. degree from York University and an M.A. degree from McGill University, both in political science.
