Hussein Itani is a Senior Vice President with Teneo’s Strategy & Communications business, based in Toronto. With over 15 years of experience, he provides strategic communications counsel to senior leaders across North America, the Gulf, and the Middle East.
Hussein joined Teneo in September 2021, initially based in Dubai before relocating to Toronto. During his time in Dubai, he developed and implemented communications strategies for clients across various sectors, advising on complex matters such as reputation management, change communications and stakeholder relations. His portfolio includes high-profile organizations such as Brookfield, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), NEOM, International Holding Company (IHC), the Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Economy, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment, the German development agency GIZ, the Prime Minister’s Office in Lebanon and the Adyan Foundation.
A former conflict transformation trainer, Hussein has extensive experience managing and advising on sensitive issues, engaging diverse stakeholders, and supporting clients in navigating both international landscapes and regional complexities.
Hussein began his career as a registered pharmacist with Sanofi before transitioning to strategic communications. He holds a master’s degree in Corporate Communications from IE University in Spain, a diploma in Intercultural Studies from USJ in Lebanon, a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from Beirut Arab University, and a professional diploma in Business Administration from the Chamber of Commerce of Beirut. Hussein is fluent in English, Arabic, and French.
