Eric Spiegel
Eric Allan Spiegel is the former President and CEO of Siemens USA. Eric was responsible for growing the U.S. business in the company’s largest market. With over $20 billion in sales, including $5.5 billion exports, approximately 50,000 employees and over 70 manufacturing sites in the U.S., Siemens is a global leader in technology and services focusing on the areas of energy production, electrification, automation and digitalization.
Most recently, Eric has worked as a Special Advisor for Brighton Park Capital, a growth-oriented private equity firm located in Greenwich, CT. For Brighton Park, he Chairs the Board of Relatient, a leading patient-engagement software provider to healthcare workers.
From early 2017 through August 2019, Eric was a Special Advisor for General Atlantic, a private equity firm located in New York. For General Atlantic, he served as Chairman of the Board for two highly successful exits, EN Engineering, a leading engineering services firm serving the automation, telecom, utility, renewables and oil and gas industries, and CLEAResult, the leading provider of energy efficiency programs to electric and gas utilities in the U.S. Eric was also the interim CEO and co-founder of OneOncology, a successful Healthcare startup.
Eric joined Siemens following 24 years of global consulting experience at Booz Allen Hamilton in the Power, Renewables, Oil and Gas, Chemicals, Healthcare, Automotive and Industrial markets. From 1999-2003, he served as the Managing Director of Booz Allen Hamilton International while living in Tokyo. This role included managing the firm’s business in Asia, Australia, Latin America and the Middle East. As a member of the Board of Directors for Booz Allen Hamilton, Eric also served as the Managing Partner of the Houston, Tokyo and Washington, D.C. commercial offices for the firm. His client focus was primarily on leading corporate strategy, operations and supply chain, business transformations and M&A. Earlier in his career, Eric worked at Brown Boveri (now ABB) and Temple, Barker & Sloane, Inc. (now Oliver Wyman Consulting).
Eric speaks at a variety of conferences and events in the U.S. and around the globe on topics such as the future of energy, electrification, the fourth industrial revolution, industrial and health digitalization, workforce development and sustainability. He has appeared on many TV business shows, including CNBC, Fox Business, Bloomberg, CNN, CNN International and MSNBC, among others. Eric co-authored the 2009 book Energy Shift: Game-changing Options for Fueling the Future, which examined the shift away from the internal combustion engine and fossil-fueled power generation.
Eric holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College where he was an Edward Tuck Scholar and received his A.B. with Honors in Economics from Harvard University. He is a Director of Liberty Mutual Holding Company Inc. (Chairman of Risk Committee) and Dover Corporation (Chairman of the Finance Committee). He is also the Chairman Emeritus of Ford’s Theatre Society Board in Washington, D.C., a Board Trustee at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL (Chairman of the Investment Committee) and a Trustee at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH.
