Teneo Expands Washington, D.C. Office With Key Senior Appointments: Rory Cooper and Kevin Seifert to Join Teneo’s Washington Team

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Rory Cooper as a Senior Managing Director with the firm’s Strategy and Communications business in Washington, D.C. In addition, Teneo announced that Kevin Seifert will join the firm as an Advisor also based in Washington.

Rory Cooper is a veteran political, policy and brand strategist with expertise earned from senior government, political and communications roles. He will serve as a senior counselor to Teneo clients advising across a wide range of government affairs as well as leading policy and reputation campaign efforts.

Kevin Seifert has deep expertise advising clients around key government affairs and strategic communications issues. He is a veteran of Capitol Hill having served in a number of roles including as the Chief of Staff to Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and leading a number of successful political campaigns.

“We are delighted to have Rory and Kevin join our growing team in Washington, D.C.,” said Andrea Calise, President of Teneo’s U.S. Strategy and Communications business. “Both bring decades of experience in government and as political and advocacy campaign strategists to many of the world’s largest companies. They will be strong additions to our firm’s public affairs offering and provide significant value to Teneo’s clients.”

Prior to joining Teneo, Rory was a partner at Purple Strategies where he spent a decade leading campaigns for some of the world’s best-known brands and organizations. Prior to that, Rory was Communications Director for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, where he advised leadership on the party’s agenda and legislative priorities. As a chief spokesman and advisor, Rory helped guide Republican leadership through some historically challenging times of divided government.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Teneo team in Washington,” said Rory Cooper. “The firm’s integrated advisory model and the depth of capabilities around the world are truly unique differentiators as well as the incredible government and advocacy expertise here in D.C. I am looking forward to working with my new colleagues around the globe to deliver for Teneo clients.”

Rory was previously part of the original staff in the Office for Homeland Security at the White House, where he played a central role in the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the development of a national homeland security strategy in the aftermath of 9/11. On September 11, Rory was serving as Deputy White House Liaison to HUD Secretary Mel Martinez. He quickly moved over to the White House to support the government’s response to the terror attacks.

“Teneo has a world class government affairs operation in Washington and in key global markets,” said Kevin Seifert. “I am very much looking forward to working more closely with the Teneo team and the firm’s clients around the world.”

The appointments of both Rory and Kevin in their respective roles are effective immediately.
