Teneo Appoints Perrin Beatty as a Senior Advisor

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of The Honourable Perrin Beatty, PC, OC as Senior Advisor. Perrin is a leading advocate for Canadian business and an accomplished parliamentarian. He is the recipient of multiple awards in recognition of his commitment to public service.

Perrin was most recently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Canada’s largest and most representative national business organization. He held that position from 2007 to 2024, making him the longest serving of the Canadian Chamber’s presidents. Perrin held the same role at Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters, a member-based organization whose mission is to ensure that the manufacturing sector is recognized by the public, and by policy makers, as an innovative and important part of Canada’s economy.

Perrin was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons as a Progressive Conservative in 1972. He spent 21 years in Parliament and served as Minister in seven different portfolios, including Treasury Board, National Revenue, Solicitor General, Defence, National Health and Welfare, Communications and External Affairs.

From 1995 to 1999, Perrin served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). He also served as Chancellor of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology from 2008 to 2015.

“We are very pleased to welcome Perrin Beatty to Teneo as a Senior Advisor,” said James Crossland, Chairman & CEO of Teneo Canada and Global Vice Chairman. “Perrin’s extensive experience and understanding of Canadian business priorities and public policy will serve our clients well.”

“I am very excited to join Teneo in Canada and contribute to the firm’s exceptional work with leading Canadian and international businesses,” said Perrin Beatty. “There is no better place for me to apply all I have learned over my years in advocacy, media, education and politics,” he added.
