Teneo Appoints Gary McGann as Senior Advisor and Chairman of Ireland Advisory Board

Teneo, the global CEO advisory firm, today announced the appointment of Gary McGann as a Senior Advisor and Chairman of Teneo’s Ireland Advisory Board. Gary is among Ireland’s most respected and influential business leaders. He has served in numerous senior management and board positions over his distinguished career, including as CEO of Smurfit Kappa Group plc, Gilbeys of Ireland and Aer Lingus Group, as well as Chairman of Flutter Entertainment Plc and Aryzta AG.

In his role with Teneo, Gary will help advise the firm’s clients and support the ongoing growth of Teneo’s business in Ireland, which now includes over 90 professionals working across the firm’s five business segments: Strategy & Communications, Financial Advisory, Management Consulting, People Advisory and Risk Advisory.

Teneo’s team in Ireland has doubled in size over the last five years, working with a diverse group of leading Irish and multinational clients across a wide range of sectors. The Financial Advisory business in Ireland, led by Damien Murran, has grown to a team of over 20 professionals in just over two years and is now a considerable part of the business in Ireland. The establishment of an experienced Restructuring team and more recently investment in the Capital Advisory service offering have been key drivers of this success.

Gary will serve as Chairman of Teneo’s newly established advisory board, which will consist of senior leaders from across Teneo’s global business, including: former U.S. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Senator George Mitchell, Irish Rugby legend Brian O’Driscoll, Non-Executive Chair of Teneo’s People Advisory, UK business Sue O’Brien OBE, and several others.

Gary is currently chair of Aon Ireland Investment Holdings Ltd, Sicon Ltd (Sisk Group) and Allegro eu SA and a consultant to MiddleGame Venture, a fintech investment fund. He is former President and Trustee of IBEC (Irish Business and Employers Confederation).
