Job Description:
The Junior Payroll Associate reports to the Payroll Manager and will support the payroll team by processing pay calculations in Workday and CloudPay, verifying timesheets, handling all employee related questions on W-2, tax elections, and any other payroll related issue. This role involves working with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues and maintaining accurate employee records.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in processing payroll for employees on a regular semimonthly schedule (including but not limited to US, Canada, Offshore Islands).
- Run all pay calculations, retro calculations in Workday and CloudPay.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, company policies, and payroll regulations.
- Address payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries regarding paychecks.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Assist in generating payroll reports for management and audits.
- Work closely with HR to update employee payroll information.
- Help ensure proper withholding of taxes, benefits, and deductions.
- Stay updated with payroll laws and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Experience with payroll processing software (e.g., Workday, CloudPay, OSV is strongly preferred)
- Good understanding of labor laws and payroll regulations.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other payroll-related tools.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- 2+ years of experience in payroll processing or a related field.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.
Base Salary Range
$70,000-$80,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Flexible Work Policy
Work Arrangement: Hybrid from NYC office (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York office, the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
