The Role

We would like to bring a Manager onboard into our Hong Kong Financial Advisory team, specifically to support the Restructuring and Insolvency practice. As a Manager in the team, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of engagements across all sectors, with responsibility for leading workstreams and supporting the senior leadership team in client-facing delivery. Our Hong Kong business is fully integrated with our Restructuring and Insolvency teams in the International Financial Centres (IFC) namely Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Bermuda.

Responsibilities:

  • Working on restructuring and insolvency engagements on a day-to-day basis, including managing junior team members as required
  • Supporting a portfolio of insolvency appointments
  • Assist with project managing parts of the engagement and appointments, providing support to the Senior Leadership team in managing external stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed financial and commercial analysis of businesses to identify key issues, challenges, opportunities and risks
  • Understanding the market, topical issues and our Restructuring propositions
  • Presenting findings clearly in client reports
  • Developing client presentations and participating in wider advisory work
  • Participate in existing business development programmes and key client accounts.
  • Start to own elements of business development, including actively supporting business development activities, building and expanding your own contact network and supporting marketing and sales activities.
  • Take responsibility for leading marketing initiatives aimed at specific channels to market, or events.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in English is essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance-related subject is preferred
  • ACCA/ACA/CPA qualifications or equivalent required
  • 5-8 years of working experience in an insolvency/restructuring role
  • Prior restructuring, insolvency, transaction or private markets experience gained in a professional services company, consultancy firm or bank would be advantageous
  • Commitment to understanding the restructuring and insolvency marketplace, its trends, and key players
  • Very strong analytical skills, including business analytics, business planning, financing options. A basic understanding of insolvency legislation and practice is not a prerequisite but helpful.
  • Excellent reporting writing skills, with experience of developing client deliverables.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Possess strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Client focused, ensuring high quality service at all times
  • Ability to coach, mentor and develop junior members of the team.
