Senior Accountant
We are seeking a Senior Accountant with expertise in Management Accounting to join our Dubai team. You will be responsible for providing financial expertise and ensure timely, accurate reporting that supports strategic decisions.
This role includes managing revenue recognition, enhancing internal controls, and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive financial performance. This role works as part of a close-knit team reporting directly into the Financial Controller, Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
- Support senior management with timely financial insights aligned with operational and strategic goals.
- Ensure revenue recognition complies with internal policies and aligns with the project delivery timeline.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Develop detailed budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Collaborate with MDs and department heads to monitor budget adherence and address variances effectively.
Accounting Operations:
- Reconcile balance sheet items (e.g., WIP and out-of-pocket expenses), ensuring accurate expense recharge and release to P&L.
- Manage and review intercompany reconciliations, debtor analyses, and unbilled AR reports.
- Ensure timely compliance with VAT, payroll, and other statutory requirements.
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, benefits, bonuses, and any deductions. Collaborate with HR and external payroll providers to gather necessary data and resolve discrepancies. Ensure compliance with local labor laws, and company policies regarding employee compensation.
- Oversee AP processes, including invoice reviews and vendor payments. Approve payment runs and bank transactions, ensuring compliance with policies and proper documentation.
Process Improvement & Compliance:
- Proactively identify and implement financial system improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with local regulatory and statutory rules.
Team Collaboration & Management:
- Provide mentorship and direction to team members in accounts payable and revenue management.
- Lead the audit process with support from the Financial Controller, acting as the key liaison with auditors, banks, and global finance counterparts.
Key Deliverables
- Monthly management accounts and analysis.

- Accurate and timely VAT/WHT and statutory submissions.
- Continuous system improvements and compliance tracking.
Key Skills & Competencies
Technical Expertise:
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite).
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel with expertise in advanced formulas.
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards.

- Ensures accuracy in reports, data, and written work.

Qualifications & Experience
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
- 5-8 years of overall professional experience, preferably within consulting or professional services.
- Proven track record in team leadership and financial systems management.
- Experience overseeing multiple offices in different geographies
- Experience working in Saudi or with Saudi entities an advantage.
