Job Description: 

Teneo is seeking a paid intern for its Washington, DC office for the spring semester. The intern will work closely with Teneo’s Head of US Government and Public Affairs and the DC-based members of Teneo’s Strategy & Communications business to support the creation and execution of GA/PA approaches to achieve clients’ strategic goals. 

  

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Track and analyze political and policy developments and potential impacts on clients
  • Study various policy areas to assist in the development of advocacy positions
  • Assess Fortune 500 clients’ and prospects’ GA/PA activities and structures
  • Draft client-ready memos, research papers, fact sheets, and other documents as needed
  • Support long-term internal projects, such as maintaining a database of political organizations, government officials, speaking events, think tanks, and other information
  • Attend relevant government and think tank events across Washington
  • General administrative support

 

 Required Skills: 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with relevant course work in politics, economics, international affairs, regional studies, communications, history, or other areas
  • Demonstrated understanding of the U.S. political system
  • Experience with open-source research
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Superior writing skills
  • Team-oriented and enthusiastic
  • Education – rising senior

Flexible Work Policy: Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York and Washington DC offices, the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of 4 days a week.
