The Role 

We’re looking for an experienced creative thinker at Director level to join us as a Digital Strategist. You’ll bring with you a deep understanding of and experience in developing digital and social strategy for existing client campaigns and projects, as well as new business proposals and opportunities.  You’ll be client facing, and alongside our senior team will have responsibility for managing some of our key clients, leading them to growth. You will also have day to day responsibility for a cross functional team – including managing priorities and day to day team engagement.  

Operating as part of our digital team and reporting at Managing Director level, you will focus on areas including digital strategy, social media strategy and creative campaigning.  As part of the wider team that delivers best in class digital campaigning globally, you will have an in depth understanding of the creative process and content production. 

Key Responsibilities 

The role responsibilities include: 

  • Assess complex client requirements / briefs to assist in scoping the opportunity for digital content and campaigning, unlocking growth. 
  • Shaping and executing digital strategies for omni-channel campaigns that benefit clients and help them reach their business objectives. 
  • Reviewing a client brief or new business proposal, our digital strategist would be tasked with responding with an insight led campaign concept or direction that could be executed by the studio team. 
  • Act as a strategic advisory to Teneo International clients. 
  • Identifying and nurturing opportunities for growth and creativity. 
  • Work closely with all areas of the business internationally to spot opportunities to grow the digital creative footprint and help deliver measurable ROI to existing clients. 
  • Leverage your expert knowledge of how regulated industries, including business to business and corporate communications, can actively operate within a digital campaigning space without fear of recompense. 
  • Oversee, lead and participate in client digital strategy sessions, pitches and proposals. 
  • Designing and running training workshops to apply your expertise to upskill the entire team. 
  • Evaluate emerging trends and technologies and provide thought leadership and perspective for implementing when appropriate. 
  • Ongoing client advisory and strategic liaison day-to-day client and internal communication. 
  • Oversee, encourage, and mentor junior team members. 
  • Be an ambassador to global Teneo offices to help them understand our Digital Campaigning offering and equip them with the language necessary to identify opportunities. 
  • Assist in development of client growth plans working with the Digital team leadership. 
  • Proactively collaborate with Teneo global offices to drive commercial opportunities and monitor profitability against service levels and performance. 
  • Assist in pitching Digital campaigning as part of new business opportunities as well as existing remits. 
  • Budget management skills including generating quotes, tracking costs, monitoring profitability and reporting against targets. 

Skills and Experience 

  • Relevant Degree in Digital Marketing / Social Media Marketing / Communications.  
  • Minimum 5 - 7 years’ experience in a creative agency or consulting firm required.
  • Genuine enthusiasm and commitment to the field of digital marketing. 
  • Demonstrate a hybrid strategic portfolio / case studies with successful metrics illustrated. 
  • Proven capability of working with global clients. 
  • Be available for travel on an ad-hoc basis. 
  • Business to business and corporate communications experience is essential. 
  • Experience working with and briefing media buying agencies. 
  • Experience analysing social listening reports and briefing social listening analysts. 
  • Proven ability as a digital strategic lead on accounts/projects and in gaining client confidence. 
  • Project planning and management – including work scoping, resource planning, stakeholder management / governance.  
  • Demonstrated history of successfully designing and executing digital strategies and campaigns. 
  • Proven analytical acuity with the ability to build research plans, transform key data in to meaningful and actionable insights that lead to informed decision-making. 
  • An in-depth working knowledge of cultural trends, digital trends, and strategy planning landscape. 
  • Excellent communication skills. 
  • Confidence in presentations, pitches and proposals with internal teams and clients. 
  • Excellent collaboration skills in a multi-disciplinary consulting environment. 
  • Capable of working well as part of a team as well as independently, across multiple projects. 
  • Ability to translate strategic thinking into inspirational creative briefs. 
  • Skilled in MS Office including budget management through Excel and presentation development in PowerPoint.  
  • Experience working with in-house or third-party creative teams.
