Management Accountant - Hong Kong

The Opportunity

As we continue to grow our operations in Asia-Pacific, we are looking for a high caliber candidate to join our dynamic and professional Regional Finance team as a Management Accountant, based in the firm's Hong Kong office. This is a unique opportunity for a driven, self-motivated candidate to develop a successful career in a dynamic, growing international advisory company.

As a Management Accountant, you will play a critical role to produce accurate and timely financial statements and management reports across the Asia Pacific region. You will support all key markets in Asia Pacific, these include: Hong Kong SAR, Mainland China, Singapore, Japan and Australia. This individual will also support the Regional Finance team and senior management with budgeting and forecasting priorities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Management Accountant within the Regional Finance team at Teneo, your role will include:

  • Regional Finance Support – Reporting into the Finance Director, Asia Pacific, you will act as a financial guardian and maintain excellent financial records. You will ensure the wider team and, in particular, the Finance Director, Asia Pacific is made aware of any potential issues

  • APAC Accounting – You will ultimately be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of financial statements. Other key areas of responsibility include:
    • Review client invoices and ensure they are issued on a timely manner and follow outstanding payment with client regularly.
    • Review vendor invoices and employee expenses claims to ensure they are settled on a timely manner with the required supporting.
    • Monitor month-end closing, prepare monthly control files and balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Prepare revenue forecast, monthly reporting package and cashflow forecast.
    • Support the preparation of statutory audit and tax filing.
    • Assist in budgeting and forecasting.
  • Regulation – Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies, prepare statutory reports and business registration when required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or related disciplines is required
  • Minimum 3 years related experience working within the finance function, ideally from the professional services sector
  • Attention to detail and demonstrates a consistent approach to ensuring financial records are maintained at the highest of standards, level of detail and without error
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders while maintaining good relationships
  • Fluent written and spoken English is essential; additional Chinese language competencies at business communication level would be an advantage
  • Personable, diligent and organised in approach to work
  • International experience (study and/or work) a plus
